We’re big on textures, and this USB Lantern Foil XL Mist is one of those interesting pieces that instantly draws people in. This is the oversized accent piece for eclectic spaces - we don’t see it working as a lantern, really, but it’s fabulous as an indoor flowerpot or just left empty on a shelf where the light can catch its metallic finish.

It’s made from glass and metal (16x16x20.5cm), with these uneven patterns of foiled gold and copper that have been distressed for a proper aged look. That part’s really important because there’s no sense of something mass-produced here - every so often you get a blueish bit with slightly too much gold foil or an odd run of copper around the rim, and we love that about it.

The top can be removed easily to set up flowers or stems inside but if your store display has enough lighting (whether natural or otherwise) you could probably make more sales by letting the glass body work its magic. Those reflective gold details pop beautifully against the more matte blue glass but honestly? What sells this thing is how different each piece looks when bathed in light at different angles.

The overall effect is all-occasion gifting - birthday, wedding anniversary, Mother’s Day. We find our retailers are usually quick to restock this item after their first order; customers pick them up for almost every reason under the sun!

You don’t see a USB lantern that feels quite so... indulgent as this one very often. This is the Foil XL Mist and, honestly, most of us liked it straight out of the box - just on appearance alone. Its shape and texture remind you a bit of those old apothecary jars with glass stoppers. In all honesty, there’s an obvious element to its presence - almost imposing in a way, like this was made to hold nothing except for cold gin and lemons (and not even cheap gin at that). And then you have those repeating gold overlays that remind us a bit of arches or windows in 1800s Europe. At 16x16x20cm, it’s more than usable for bookshelves or on a windowsill. It’s quite a statement piece really and we recommend curating it as such if you’re leaning towards styling. We must note the hand finishing means small imperfections; but if anything, they only serve to add to its allure.
