We recently added our Hanging Chime Bird to the collection because we couldn't pass up a piece that can be so many things in an indoor or outdoor space. Cast in iron and steel, it measures 11x6.5x49cm and has a small, squat bird - like a sparrow - perched on the chain. The bottom is also weighed down with another iron ball so that it catches the wind a bit better and makes a muted chime. It’s almost like those wind chimes you see everywhere but you realise it isn’t about the wind as much as it is about the quaintness of it - for us at least.
It looks best in patios, near garden windows, in porches, or even by fireplace mantles or bay windows, but we haven’t ruled out hallways either! But those who are buying from you to put these up outdoors might want to know that this will most likely develop a patina eventually given how it is cast-iron; if they want to prevent that from happening sooner rather than later, oiling the surface with linseed oil should keep some of that at bay
