Cast iron is so incredibly underrated. There’s a reason it has been around for centuries as one of the most loved metals in home essentials, especially when it comes to things like kitchenware or doorstops. We recently restocked our cast iron Doorstop Pelican and they’re flying off the shelves (pun intended). At 10x11.5x13cm, these are just sturdy enough to provide functional stability for doors while not taking up an entire corner. We chose pelicans because they’re both neutral and fun - their beautiful long beaks give them a distinctive silhouette and this makes it a great accent piece as well for coastal homes or holiday homes. The bird is painted in dark grey-black with detailing that creates a textural contrast so there’s some interest from afar as well, especially in dim rooms. The finish is smooth but if you look really close up, there’s some of that classic cast iron texturing that just feels like it’s rich in history and novelty.
