Cocktail Tables

The cocktail table is different from the café table because generally they are used in a night time setting. By this we mean an environment such as a nightclub or a bar, although some people have these at home. In the nightlife industry it is a good idea to have at least a few tables scattered about for people to set their drinks on. Otherwise they might get frustrated and start littering the floor with cups and bottles. Depending on how classy of a joint it is there may be many cocktail tables with matching chairs.  Cocktail tables are a necessary part of life for people who do not want to sit at the bar but still want to be seated. You will find that a cocktail table can be any number of shapes or sizes.

Circular Tables

One often sees circular tables resting in local nightspots possibly because they are much more efficient in terms of space. Oftentimes these tables are very tall and so are there chairs so that they can be at the same level as the bar. However tables of a more average height are also acceptable, usually surrounded by two to four chairs. Although wood is the traditional material for tables, metal is often employed in these types of situations. This may be because it is more durable and therefore less susceptible to the wear and tear of bar room activities and general rowdiness.

Square Tables

There is no rule that says that there cannot be square or rectangular tables in bars. Similar to what one would normally see in a dining room these types of tables are an excellent option for establishments that serve food as well as beverages. It is common to see square and rectangular tables in many materials including wood, metal and glass tops. Typically they will be accompanied by several chairs on which to sit while eating. Since these tend to be the largest kind of table surface it is possible to keep centre pieces on them -- such as floral arrangements or candle holders - without knocking them over.

Drawer Consoles

There is no reason one could not set a drink on a drawer console provided it is not already full of other objects. Evenly spaced drawer consoles placed against the wall, or used as accent tables in a seating arrangement, make the room appear luxurious. The well designed room is full of multiple kinds of accent tables including drawer consoles. Truthfully, people decide how much they are willing to pay for alcohol based on how richly appointed the room is. You might say that the more drawer consoles there are the more you can charge for a highball of vodka and cranberry juice.

Hall Tables

Hallway tables are so called because they are narrow enough to set up in a hallway without blocking the passageway. This can be very important when dealing with small quarters; such is the case for many smaller bars. By leaning narrow tables around the perimeter people will have a place to set their glasses and bottles as well as standing room. Hall tables come in many different kinds of materials the most commonplace being metal or wood. Some kinds of these narrow tables can even be folded up making them ideal for situations where they must be stored and set up at a moment's notice.

Coffee Tables

The coffee table is a kind of cocktail table that can be used in the home. Many even come with built in storage for liquor and wine bottles as well as glasses and other beverage accoutrements. The coaster is an important addition for coffee tables because the condensation on a cup or bottle can seriously damage the finish. This may lead to permanent rings in the surface of the table or some other type of bleaching when you try to scrub it off. The coffee table is intended to be used in a seating area that contains a couch flanked by one or more chairs. This makes them a great option for cocktail parties.
